WHAT MAKES THIS TOURNAMENT SPECIAL?
WE DRIVE FOR DOUGH!
WHO: The brainchild of Marvin Marcell, Director of
Public Affairs for Group 1 Automotive/Sterling McCall, and
Chairman of the Chamber Board of Directors, this game
promises an exciting end to every Chamber tournament.
Representing a long-standing Sponsor of the Chamber Classic, Marcell wanted to create a "win-win" opportunity, making the
tournament exciting for all in attendance. The Houston-area
automotive giant funds the game as a part of their annual
event sponsorship.
WHAT: A game that takes the place of
costly, seldom-won "Hole-In-One" prizes (IE: an automobile),
offering guaranteed cash prizes totaling of $3,000!
WHY: EVERY tournament has BIG winners, no
elusive Hole-In-One needed!
HOW: Though every golfer at the tournament
has a chance to win, the odds increase with the golfer’s
level of skill. Each registered golfer playing in the
tournament receives one contest entry. Additionally, each
par 3 hole is monitored throughout the tournament, and all
golfers hitting the green receive an additional entry.
WHERE: The tournament is held on the beautiful, 27-hole
course at Pecan Grove Plantation Country Club on Plantation
Drive (at the corner of FM 359) in Richmond, Texas.
WHEN: The prize drawing is held at the
very end of the tournament, following the Banquet, Awards
Ceremony and Live Auction. Winners MUST be present to win!
Payment is disbursed to winners via bank check within 10
days of the tournament, (W-9 Forms provided for prizes in
excess of $600.)
